Atmospheric plasma technology for fabric, yarns and fibres is able to substantially increase wettability of the product, encouraging a long-lasting stable adhesion of organic solvent free dyes. This technology allows to add long-term solidity to colours in printing and dyeing processes along with an appreciable reduction of raw material consumption with respect to conventional processes.
Plasma processes allow saving chemicals in the application of soluble or dispersed resins too, ensuring high quality of textile products, as well as giving new properties to the fibre without additional coating. This technology can be substantially considered as a finishing process and, in addition, , it does not alter the texture and the organoleptic properties of fabrics.
Plasma treatment is a roll-to-roll process and can be easily integrate in the productive line. The technology has been yet successfully applied with natural noble or synthetic fibres, for conferring properties like hydro and oleo-phobicity, anti-pilling, easy-care, anti-bacterial and increased dyeability.
